The Surrey Art Gallery is the only public art museum in Canada with a commitment to digital media. On an ongoing basis, its purpose built venue, the TechLab, supports the presentation and production of digital art forms - either through exhibition or artist's residencies. The TechLab has been in operation since 1999.

In addition to the TechLab program, the Gallery launched a second venue to present new media work by youth (ages 15-29) with the pilot project REMIXX. sur. re

In 2007 the Gallery is planning on piloting a third venue for digital media, specifically digital audio artforms.

The Surrey Art Gallery's digital media program is directed by Curator, Liane Davison.
